Meet Charles F. Burnard

Charles F. Burnard was born on July 18th 1816 & was Mayor of Plymouth 1881 - 1882. He is Mary's dad. I will check up on all his children shortly. His picture was taken in March of 1897. He died on November 10th 1905. Interesting also, the family crest and motto "Bear & Forbear".

He also wrote a poem in 1839 called "Winter Departs" ....

A search for Burnard & Alger (to replace a broken link in another section of this blog) yielded the following information on C. F. Burnard at
http://audio30.archive.org/stream/proceedings08chem/proceedings08chem_djvu.txt

Burnard, Charles F. of the Plymouth Chemical Works, Plymouth is listed in the Chemical Society's 1892 Proceedings Vol. VIII. Nos. 105-117 (digitized in 2009 with funding from the University of Toronto.) The "Trans." prefix before his name indicates that he has contributed published paper(s) and the date he was elected as a Fellow of the Chemical Society appears to be Feb. 21, 1884.

Same proceedings list "Burnard & Alger" as being located near Plymouth.
